Financial Support for 16 – 18 year olds
Guaranteed Study Bursary
There is a Bursary of up to £1,200 a year for students who are one of the following:
– In receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit
– In receipt of Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance
– In the care of the Local Authority
– A Care Leaver
Discretionary Learner Support Fund
This bursary is available to help with up to 50% of the cost of essential kit, equipment and uniform. To be eligible for the bursary students must have a household income of £21,000 or less.
Free College Meals
You may also be entitled to free College meals through a government scheme. Students will need to complete a Bursary application form and provide recent evidence of the qualifying benefit. Once the application has been approved, a credit of £3 per day will be available to spend at a College approved supplier.
Care to Learn
Care to Learn is a government scheme offering childcare support for students who are 19 or under at the start of their course. For further information please visit www.gov.uk/care-to-learn/how-to-claim
Craven College offer a Travel Bursary for students with a household income of £31,000 or less and will pay a maximum of £200 per term for the main journey.*
Financial Support for 19+
Discretionary Learner Support Fund
This bursary is available to help with up to 50% of the cost of essential kit, equipment and uniform. Assistance from this fund is available to students with a household income of £21,000 (gross) per year or below.
Lunch Vouchers
Students with a household income of £16,190 or less will be eligible for lunch vouchers. Students will receive £3 to spend in The College Café or at a College approved supplier.
Childcare
We can offer childcare support to students who are aged 20 or above at the start of their course and have a household income of £21,000 or less. Craven College will pay a maximum of £160 per week for one child or £210 per week if more than one child. Childcare must be provided by an Ofsted registered childcare provider.
